Bold, joyful voice coaching for singers, speakers, and anyone exploring the voice that's truly theirs. Wherever you're starting from, you're welcome here.
Build range, control and confidence, whether you're prepping for a stage, an audition, or just want to love the sound you make. Technique without the gatekeeping.
Present, pitch and speak up with a voice that carries. Great for nerves, public speaking, interviews and anyone who wants to be heard clearly and authentically.
Explore pitch, resonance and expression at your own pace, in a space built around your goals and comfort. Gender-affirming voice work led by you, supported by me.
Performance anxiety isn't the same as healthy nerves, and the usual breathing-and-positivity advice rarely touches it. Drawing on clinical psychology and tools like CBT, clinical hypnosis, inference-based therapy and metacognitive therapy, we'll help you perform like yourself when the pressure is on.
Functional assessment of singing and speaking to identify factors that may be contributing to hoarseness, breathlessness, muscle tension, a decrease in range, missing notes, an inability to access certain voice qualities, or lost confidence through singing or speaking. Using exercises and technique development, we work towards a voice that is healthy, pain free, reliable and authentic.
Please note: pain and dysfunction should first be assessed by a GP, who may refer you to a clinical or medical voice specialist, or a laryngeal specialist. RA Voice Coaching does not and cannot assess or address physical pathological conditions.
Singing or speaking, your voice is worth the room it takes up. We start with what is already yours and help it come through with ease, freedom and confidence.
I'm Rob Agnew, a registered singing teacher and a member of both AOTOS, the Association of Teachers of Singing, and the Association of British Choral Directors. I have Estill training, I'm currently completing a master's in voice pedagogy, and I've been in various cabaret, choir and vocal group projects over the years.
In my psychology practice I've coached performers of every kind, from professional musicians to actors, but also CEOs who have to give performance-level presentations, and I understand the nerves and self-doubt that can sit between you and your performance.
I'm a proud and loud trans and non-binary ally, so gender-affirming voice work is always led by you and held with care.
Alongside vocal coaching and creative work, I'm also a clinical psychologist with around twenty years of experience. I don't treat mental health conditions as part of RA Voice Coaching, but I draw on psychological approaches wherever they genuinely help your voice: easing performance anxiety, accessing your authentic sound or self, building confidence and presence, and working through the self-doubt or blocks that can get in the way.
A relaxed, no-pressure call to talk through what you'd love your voice to do and whether we're a good fit. No commitment.
We set goals that are genuinely yours and build a session rhythm that fits your life, your pace and your comfort.
Regular sessions, real progress, and plenty of cheering you on. We track how far you've come, together.
Dr Agnew has been extremely helpful. He is a compassionate and perceptive listener, who is also able to gently push you to hold yourself accountable for your own well-being when necessary. His knowledge and awareness of various topics means that it is easy to feel comfortable around him. Highly recommend.
Rob was superb in all respects. Listened, analysed, empathised, humour, some positive challenge when required. Can't praise him highly enough, am always in his debt. Thank you.
I could not be more grateful for meeting Dr Rob Agnew. After working with numerous professionals and getting nowhere, things finally started to change when I started working with him. His knowledge is excellent and has completely changed my life.
